Can I format a Google Doc in APA or MLA without downloading it first?

Most students draft in Google Docs, and the usual path — File → Download → Microsoft Word, then upload — is where many give up. The link input skips that. Veermat asks Google for the .docx export of the document, which works for any document shared as “Anyone with the link” (viewer access is enough).
A private document cannot be fetched; you will see a one-line instruction to change the sharing setting and paste the link again. Nothing is stored beyond the formatted result you would get from an upload, and you can switch sharing back afterwards.
The formatted file is a Word .docx. Download it and open it in Word, or use File → Open in Google Docs to bring the formatted version back into Docs. Hanging indents, page numbers and the title-page break survive the round trip.
